What Movie is this? (think it was an indie film)?

I don't have much detail.
From what I remember there's about 2 or 3 main characters.
One is an artist(I think hes suicidal but I don't remember). At some
point in the film he gets a painting hung in a library.
The female character doesn't find out until near the end of the film
when she looks on the back of the canvas she has (at her place for
whatever reason) and realizes they are signed by him.
I think the movie ends strange... like a car accident...but it doesn't
happen to the artist.. it happens to the girl.
